About the animal
Mom lived on the street and never knew human care and involvement. One day, the phone rang at the animal shelter. A man who fed street cats reported that he had spotted a cat in an interesting condition. Volunteers went out in response to the call. They managed to catch the cat, but unfortunately, she was already without her kittens. The little cat was named Mama and taken for examination at the vet clinic. Mama was confused and restless, searching everywhere for her babies. Fortunately, a few days later, the newborns were found in the basement of an abandoned house. Mama welcomed her kittens back, and her joy was boundless. After the little ones were treated, they were adopted, while Mama remained at the shelter.
A Serious Kitty
The initial loss and then the unexpected return of her kittens greatly affected Mama’s character. The cat is still aloof, avoiding people and other animals. She does not readily interact. In addition, she is a carrier of feline coronavirus. Mama has mastered the litter box and scratching post. She requires a course of antibiotics during flare-ups of chronic infections. Mama is not up for adoption, and the animal shelter remains her home.
