Marusya came from Dagestan with her friend Emelya. Donkeys are used as draught animals there, but people don't take much care of them.

Charlie and her mom, Lima, came under the care of volunteers after they were rescued from the streets, where there were many dangers. Thanks to the "Domik" shelter, they regained their health and friendliness.
