Initially, Zita and her sister Gita were planned to be caught for sterilization and released back. The girls lived together in the courtyard of a residential building, most likely they were born on the streets and never knew the warmth of a home. After sterilization, the cats turned out to be so affectionate and well-behaved that the staff decided to keep the sisters at the shelter. They are constantly purring, cuddling, and offering their soft bellies to humans.

Zita is bolder and more active than her sister. The cats get along great, sleep together, rub against each other, and playfully bat their paws. They are litter trained and use a scratching post. Zita would be comfortable to live in a family with children, but most likely without other animals. It will be a true miracle if Zita and Gita end up in the same family, as they are so attached to each other.
