The life of this boy began with difficult trials. Kindhearted people discovered a box with 2 nursing cats and 6 kittens in one of the stairwells in Makhachkala. Smoky and his brothers had serious eye problems caused by a rhinotracheitis infection.

In Dagestan, animals face great hardships due to the lack of veterinary specialists. There was no place for the sick and blind little ones, and volunteers started looking for a rescue center willing to take these kittens under their care. This is how Smoky, his mom Verona, and his brother Belyash ended up in a shelter in St. Petersburg.

Fighting for Happiness

Smoky's right eye could not be saved, and it had to be removed on August 28. The big heart of this little kitten has gone through tough times, but despite everything, he remains a playful and very curious little fellow. Smoky joyfully explores the world around him.
