Pirog arrived at the animal shelter from a foster home healthy, but he was soon struck by a severe case of calicivirus. Unfortunately, the illness has caused serious complications for his kidneys, leading to chronic insufficiency. Pirog is currently on a continuous support therapy: pain relief, kidney medications, and a special diet help him feel better.
