After finding herself on the street, Maya began searching for a cozy place to settle down. She was about to become a mother any day now. One of the basements in an apartment building was open, and there Maya made her home. Soon, strong and healthy kittens were born, despite the stress she had experienced. The residents of the building heard the tiny cries and reached out to volunteers for help. That’s how Maya ended up in an animal shelter for homeless animals.

A loving kitty

Maya adapted easily to her new living conditions. She feels relatively comfortable among her fellow felines. While she doesn’t start fights, she won’t let herself be bullied either; she may hiss and give a gentle swipe of her paw if needed. Maya has a friendly attitude towards people, loving affection and attention. She enjoys sitting in laps and purrs when she feels safe. She has learned to use the litter box and scratching post. Maya has a little quirk: her belly is a bit larger than usual. She has been examined, and no abnormalities were found; she has simply become a mother several times. She is open to being rehomed into any family, preferably with children over the age of 10.
