In the autumn of 2020, compassionate individuals reached out for help to the "Okhana" animal shelter: a family of raccoon dogs was living under terrible conditions in a cottage settlement. Once, they resided in a beautiful enclosure and were the pride of a well-off owner. However, after he went bankrupt and left the country, the raccoon dogs were left without care.

Abandoned to fate

Kutuzov and his sister Josephine were abandoned in a small rabbit hutch in the settlement. They were fed whatever was available, and rabbits were not the best neighbors for them. Soon, the raccoon dogs fell seriously ill...

A miraculous rescue

Once a space became available at the shelter, kind caretakers decided to help treat and find homes for the siblings. They quickly recovered, but finding a new home proved to be a challenge. Reserves refused to take Kutuzov and Josephine, stating that they are not raccoons, but dogs. Therefore, they should live in a dog shelter. This is how the raccoon dog siblings ended up living in Okhana.

Children of the hero city

The siblings were born in Maloyaroslavets—a hero city from the War of 1812. They are wonderful, yet quite untamed creatures. They are afraid of dogs and live in pairs, finding warmth and safety in each other. These little bundles of fate are ready to turn the page to a new chapter in their incredible story, cradled in caring and loving hands.
