Gerda ended up in the shelter as a juvenile. She roamed the streets with another puppy and faced hardships. Hunger, not having a home, and the discontent of those passing by took their toll and made Gerda wary of people. Her companion quickly found a home, but Gerda continued to live at the shelter and misses her friend.
Today, Gerda is a playful dog who loves to go for walks and play with her new friends. However, she remains wary of people. While at the shelter, Gerda craves ear scratches and human attention, as well as training sessions with a dog behaviorist. She must be walked on a leash. In a new home, Gerda will need time to adjust, but she is sure to settle in once she realizes she has a forever home and family.
