He was left in a carrier at the city shelter. They packed his belongings and wrote a note saying, "This is Benjamin, a good boy who loves to play soccer, just not needed any longer." Emaciated, skin and bones, and no longer a young Chihuahua, he found himself without a home or a close companion. The shelter was hard on him; he bounced from foster home to foster home, never quite fitting in.

The little dog suffered from incontinence due to kidney failure. Many tried to adopt him, but he was always returned to the shelter, which broke his heart. He didn't get along with other dogs, but made friends with cats. He roams the area, interacting with his furry friends, digging holes, chasing butterflies or snowflakes, and finding joy in each new day.
