Sonya was abandoned at the cat café "Chukotka" right on March 8th — not in a box with a ribbon, but like an unwanted thing. The volunteers from the "Nadежda" foundation immediately took her under their care. Later it was revealed that Sonya had previous owners — first "relatives," then she was given away through Avito. Perhaps when the cat began to show symptoms of illness and received a serious diagnosis, people got scared or realized they couldn’t handle it. Or maybe they just didn’t want to. Now Sonya is in safe hands, but she is still fighting for her health.

A Touching Little One

Sonya is a young, very affectionate, and playful cat. She is miniature, almost like a kitten. This fragility is likely a result of poor breeding: a Neva Masquerade with a mix of an ordinary yard cat. The girl has inflammation of the spine, experiences constipation, and has heart issues; once, fluid even gathered in her chest. Currently, Sonya is on therapy, and they are selecting the most gentle treatment to avoid harming her heart. Despite everything, she purrs, reaches out to humans, and so desperately wants to live — not just anywhere, but with a loving owner.
