The coal-black beauty Eiva was found by a shelter volunteer in a basement along with her three-month-old kittens: Shchavel, Shcherbet, and Shchepka. Fortunately, the mother cat was friendly, which allowed the family to be taken to the rescue center. Soon it became clear that the little ones were suffering from calicivirus. One by one, they stopped eating and began to lose weight, which is life-threatening for kittens.

Fight for Survival

Shcherbet and Shchepka spent a week at the veterinary clinic and soon recovered. These two already found a home. However, Shchavel was less fortunate: the dangerous virus almost cost him his life. The little guy had a persistent fever, watery eyes, and poor blood work. Even after stabilizing his condition, Shchavel encountered new health issues, spending more than a month in the clinic's inpatient care. In the end, he overcame his illness and returned to the shelter.

Young Energizer

Shchavel is the most curious little cat in the world, a true energizer. He plays with any objects and catches everything within reach, occasionally knocking things around in the rescue center. Additionally, he is a super affectionate boy with a wonderful character: he purrs in a person's hands and gets along well with other animals.

Help Shchavel

One day, this boy will undoubtedly become an ideal pet for a home, but for now, he is waiting for a procedure to treat a polyp and isn’t adopted yet. If you see Shchavel's fundraiser for treatment, please help cover it with any amount you can comfortably give. This purring boy will be very grateful to you!
