Even in big cities, there are still clinics that euthanize animals without justification. Such was the fate of an elderly boy named Ponchik, whose life could have ended tragically: he was reportedly found on the street and simply brought in for euthanasia. Without any reason.

A kind-hearted clinic administrator reached out to the "Garage" animal shelter, asking them to take Ponchik in. This is how the sweet boy found himself in the caring hands of volunteers.

Charming and Affectionate

When "Garage" took Ponchik in, it became clear that he was definitely a domestic animal. This incredibly calm, clean, and loving boy simply couldn’t have been a street cat... It’s likely he was abandoned. But despite his past, Ponchik quickly adapted to his new life and became everyone’s favorite. He is incredibly affectionate with adults and is completely unafraid of children. However, he is somewhat selective about his interactions with other cats.

Struggling with Diabetes

Unfortunately, it soon became evident at the shelter that Ponchik had health problems: he was drinking a lot and his back legs would collapse when walking. After some time, the boy was diagnosed with diabetes. Now, Ponchik requires insulin injections every 12 hours for life. Caring volunteers take turns twice a day at specific times to give him these vital injections... He endures them with remarkable strength and courage.
