Marsel appeared at the Sheremetyevo animal shelter in quite a peculiar way. He was brought in by a man who claimed that his friend was adopting a dog from this shelter. However, misfortune struck; Marsel's former owner ended up in jail, leaving the dog in need of a home. The strange part of this story is that no staff member at the shelter had known Marsel before. Most likely, the man crafted a story to rid himself of the dog. Marsel was in shock for a long time. He found it hard to cope with such a sudden turn in his life, being left without an owner in an unfamiliar place among hundreds of other dogs. But the staff at the Sheremetyevo shelter did everything possible to help him adapt. In the enclosure, Marsel has befriended Takson, and they live together, waiting for their special person.

A serious boy with good intentions

Marsel is a thoughtful boy; one meeting is not enough for him to form a warm relationship. He is not inclined to encourage familiarity, but once he confirms that a person is trustworthy, he becomes very friendly. Gaining his trust is quite simple — just engage with him positively a few times (through food and play) without intruding on his personal space. He will truly appreciate it and will come forward on his own. Marsel is very reasonable, well-mannered, and sweet with those he trusts. He’s perfectly trained, stunningly beautiful, small in size, and athletically built. This energetic, playful boy can entertain himself, as long as his favorite person is nearby! He recognizes the girl who walks him regularly at the shelter and is always thrilled to see her, eagerly bouncing on his paws and barking joyfully.

What should a future owner know about Marsel?

  • Marsel is a dog for a patient, active, and experienced person, as he has protective instincts and a strong dislike for similar animals.
  • He walks well on a leash and knows commands.
  • He does not tolerate being loomed over or having things thrown at him.
  • He may seem unapproachable; his trust and affection must be earned. He doesn't get excited about everyone; he is a one-person dog. He will do anything for his special human.
  • He should be placed in a family without children and with experience in handling similar breeds.
