The volunteers had known Graf for quite some time. He lived by his own rules in a stray pack, wild and unapproachable. But hunger took over, and the dog would not refuse the food offered by kind-hearted people. One day, they reported that the dog was dying. What the people saw made their hearts ache with pain... The dog lay unconscious on a foul heap of garbage, while death was counting down the minutes. Flies were already buzzing around the unfortunate animal. Nearby, a man with a shovel stood ready to bury the body so it wouldn’t lie there in the heat. This entire grim scene seemed to say — die faster, you’re not needed, and no one will come for you! But a kind soul made a difference. Graf was taken to a clinic where urgent medical care was provided. It turned out that he had been bitten by a tick, infecting him with piroplasmosis. However, Graf's body proved to be strong, and the boy quickly recovered. It was hard to imagine that he had almost crossed the line. But with his recovery, his wild nature returned. He wasn’t ready to trust people. Yet they believed in him and didn't return him back. Thus, Graf stayed at the "Bim" animal shelter.
Graf has learned to live with people
He has been living in the shelter for a long time. Time allowed him to change his mindset. But it didn’t happen right away. Just try opening up to those you’ve feared since birth. And he’s not a coward at all! Graf was born and raised by his peers, without any affection or dreams. "Grab and run, or it’s dangerous!" his friends taught him. He has faced a lot. Finding himself in different conditions, he had to learn to live all over again. And he is making progress. Tasty food and good treatment encourage him to relax and believe in things he had never known. Like love. The boy is receptive to training. Though hesitantly, he takes food straight from hands. He doesn’t mind interaction and allows himself to be petted. His life is nothing like it used to be, but it can become even better. Perhaps there is someone out there who will love him the most! Someone who will say: you are my friend, and I am yours! He doesn’t need any special treatment apart from kindness and care. And then his transformation from a wild animal into a domestic companion will be happily completed at last.
