The story of Geran begins on a less than cheerful note: she was brought to the animal shelter by her own owners. It turned out that Geran had some behavioral challenges, and her previous caregivers, lacking experience, simply could not address them. Geran underwent a two-year rehabilitation course with volunteers who worked hard to help her overcome her fears of other animals, people, and bicycles, as well as to fill in the gaps in her upbringing. This sweet girl forms strong bonds with the people who care for her and is responsive to training. The shelter staff is now looking for a permanent home for her.
What kind of owner will Geran get along with?
Primarily, she needs a caring and responsible person: she requires ongoing support and further work on her behavior. Geran is already accustomed to walks and leash training and knows basic commands. However, she may still react aggressively upon seeing other dogs on the horizon or behave distantly and independently during walks. While her behavior has improved, a person must set rules for her to understand her environment better. Progress shows that Geran is an intelligent and trainable dog. She is curious, loves to play, and is completely non-aggressive towards people, including children.
How can you help Geran?
While Geran is at the shelter, you can assist the staff by providing her with food or sharing her story on social media. Financial support for advertising will help us share her story with a larger audience, and hopefully, among them, there will be someone who would like to welcome Geran into their home.
