Chernomorochka and her four-legged companions faced inevitable doom. In the flood zone of the Kakhovskaya Hydroelectric Power Station, the water was rising every minute, and the chances of rescue were fading. But fortunately, help arrived just in time; volunteers rescued the cats and flew them to a shelter in Chelyabinsk.

Independent Kitty

From her very first days in the shelter, Chernomorochka proved to be a self-reliant and independent little cat. She is friendly towards humans but doesn’t enjoy being held. She may purr in response to gentle touches, but only briefly. Instead, she prefers to observe the goings-on at the shelter from a distance. She quickly got the hang of using the litter box and scratching post. She would fit into any family, preferably with children over 10 years old, and she can coexist with other animals.
