Borya lived a carefree life. He had a wonderful owner, cheerful friends, and a full bowl of food. He even liked what he saw in the mirror—white cheeks, gray stripes, and an almost perfect letter M on his forehead. Five years flew by in peace and happiness. However, when his caregiver passed away, nobody was there to look after the little cat. Strangers came to the apartment, found new homes for three of his friends, and Borya, along with another unfortunate soul, was thrown out like he was unwanted. At first, he was surprised, but then despair set in, followed by bitter resignation. Month after month, year after year, he wandered the streets. His health quickly deteriorated, and hope for a better future vanished even faster. Only one woman took pity on him, fed him, and eventually found a place for the boy in a rescue center.

He didn't choose to be this way

The stray life seriously took a toll on the elderly animal’s overall condition. Through no fault of his own, he ended up on the street. Cruel human indifference had done its work—Borya has lost one eye, most of his teeth, and is now on a special diet. But even now, this boy wants to be needed and loved. During all those days when he forgot warmth and comfort, he became cautious, yet his trust has not disappeared. He long ago stopped believing that someone might pet him, say gentle words, or kiss him on the forehead. Borya is slowly trying to adapt to tender affection; with small steps, he is moving towards a completely different life. He needs a kind, responsible, and patient person who can feel him with their heart, understand the hardships he has endured, and his new timid hopes, and provide him with time and a sea of love.

We need to bring joy back to Borya
